The first thing after a tiring day I got home,
my dad asked me to visit my grandad at the hospital,
as he's only left with 2 - 3 days of survival.

I didn't want to.
Cause the sight of seeing him with thin tubes poking through him,
makes my heart hurts.
I'm sorry, grandad.

Everytime when I got home,
you're already asleep.
Though I didn't talk to you,
or ask if you're alright,
but I'll always stand at the door side seeing you curling yourself up in bed.
My heart do cares for you.
Praying that you'll be alright always.

And now I'm all alone in the silent night.
Remember of the old days.

Remember when you're healthy,
you worked and you're always buying food & toys for my brother & I.
Sometimes we even received little allowances.
After you retired, you started drinking everyday.
Never fail to fill the table with bottles after bottles.
That's when grandmum & you started to turn sour.
It hurts to see you like this.

You had stroke,
and grandmum was all along taking care of you.
She never fail to be by your side,
despite her being not that strong too.
When both of you quarrelled,
I felt scared cause I didn't know how to stop this big fight of an adult.

Remember once you had a big quarrel with her,
and even wanted to hit her with a walking stick while he hided in the room,
I didn't know what to do,
while all my parents didn't pick up my calls.
I just called auntie for helped and she rushed down from work.

Grandad,
Thanks for taking care of me & my parents all these while.
It must have been a tiring journey as a man
being a bread winner of the family for so long.
I'm sure in your next life, you'll be another very good grandad.
Hope you'll rest in peace in another world.
And we'll miss you always.
